The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making right the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. (Psalm 19:7-11)
This law might be better translated , “His teaching,” or “a direction,” or better yet, “instruction” The word ” Testimony ” derives from the root word “to bear witness.” Overall, it bears testimony to its Divine Author. So we can see Jesus being characterized who is perfect, sure, right and pure. The reality of all Scripture is that it is God breathed: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The psalmist David understood that it was His God, and His Word who was making his life as king over Israel, enriched by his trusting in the Lord. God’s Word in the life of a believer brings much growth and spiritual maturity. But only when it is obeyed by the believer. David had this true and intimate relationship with God because David spent time before Him in His Word, and in prayer. Some people might be saying to themselves, “If God would just speak to me directly . . . Then maybe I would believe more.” Maybe if we obeyed His Word more, we would hear more. The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous — When a country declares war on another country, it first brings home it’s ambassadors. The Bible says that we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20). Jesus will return for His church first, then after a seven year tribulation period will return again and this time, bring swift judgment to this earth. We will be with Him to start what the Scripture declares as the millienial reign, in which Christ will reign and rule over all the earth, and we the church, the body of Christ will reign with Him.
Beloved friend, The fear of the Lord is clean enduring forever. The Lord has taken away your sins by dying on the cross, we are washed and clean and made new before Him. Don’t live a defeated life of sin anymore, God has more for those who look to Him and His Word which is described as being Perfect, Sure, Right and True. Which is what our Savior, Jesus Christ is! Praise the Lord!
May the Lord bless your walk today!
