You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength. (Isaiah 26:3-4)
A fixed disposition of trust in the Lord brings peace that the wicked can never know “There is no peace,” Says my God, “for the wicked.” ( Isaiah 57:21). Such reliance does not include Christians who are double-minded, in the NT James writes: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all liberally and with out reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (James 1:5-8). Jesus gives us another example of double-mindedness “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and dispise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). Mammon stands for earthly materials and treasures, especially money.
So you see God has something for the believer whose heart is completely His. It has nothing to do with circumstances, because perfect peace stands out in the midst of chaos. You will have a profound witness in your walk when people around you see what you value most, a personal relationship in Jesus Christ, that’s based on trusting completely in Him for all your needs. Everlasting strength– Litterally is the expression of God as “Rock of Ages,” a rocky cliff where the trusting one may find shelter from their enemies attacks.
Dear friend, does this describe you? Is Jesus your Rock? your Refuge and Strength? You too can be blessed by Him with a mind of peace.
May the Lord bless your walk!
