But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield (Psalm 5:11-12)
David, certainly had a way of making his feelings known to the Lord in prayer. This beautiful passage has much for us to glean from. First, Our rejoicing should be in the One whom we have trusted for our salvation. How joyful Christians should be as we have Christ the Lord, as our defender from the accuser of the brethren Satan, we when stumble in the flesh, our Divine Advocate and Great God and Savior is there for us, to intercede with His mercy and grace. Oh how we should love the Lord Jesus Christ, and bless His name. Worship Him as Lord Most High. He will bring much blessings into our lives, and joyful praise to our hearts, as we read His Word, and talk to Him in prayer.
These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full (John 15:11). Jesus told us that it is His spoken Words that brings us joy, being filled with His Spirit enables us to receive His Word in full context, thus responding to His written Word cause much love, joy, and peace to be ours, that we may be full.
May the Lord Bless your walk!
I’m gonna back up a bit with that John 15 text and talk about abiding in Jesus because he is the vine. Joy is a fruit of the spirit. Nice!
